Richard joined the trust in June 2017 as Principal of Don Valley Academy.
Richard has been in education for over 20 years and has been a Principal within three separate Secondary academies. Richard is experienced in school improvement working with a number of schools within West, South and North Yorkshire as well as the Nottinghamshire area.
Although Richard's degree is in History, he actually trained as a PE Teacher. Richard's early leadership experience developed his expertise around the curriculum area and securing high achievement of students. Richard now provides support to Don Valley Academy and The Laurel Academy to develop strategic leadership.
There's no average day for Richard however he always ensures that he gets into as many lessons as possible and ensures that staff and students feel supported.
Outside of work, Richard is a keen sports fan who occasionally plays sports to variant levels of success.
I strongly believe in the values and aims of the organisation and will continue to work with the children and families in the North of England to change lives.
