Zoe came into teaching after completing an Equine Science degree at Nottingham Trent University

Zoe began her teaching career in Lincolnshire teaching in a large secondary school with a specialism in performing arts. She moved swiftly from NQT to leadership before taking up post as Vice Principal for Delta Academies Trust and to Principal in 18 months. She secured the accolade of Secondary school teacher of the year for the East Midlands and the national runner-up, and she has been National Creative Learning Lead Practitioner for the SSAT and has even been a poster girl in the TV teacher recruitment campaign with the TDA!

Zoe has actively supported her career development through academic study and completed her MA in Educational Leadership and Development with Warwick University as part of her journey to her current post of Associate Executive Principal.

Zoe is incredibly proud of the organisation she works for and feels that working for this organisation is incredibly rewarding. The level of support and challenge from all colleagues across the MAT is second to none, there is a real sense that we are a strong team who are passionate about striving to change the educational outcomes for all students across the North of England. 

All our Academies are unique with their own contextual challenges. Zoe's first headship was very much a challenge, being a school that had twice been in special measures. But the systems and policies that Delta provide, meant that she was not alone, and that with support from her colleagues, both within the academy and from the central team, change has been rapid and sustained. It is now one of the top performing schools in England for both attainment and progress.
