Goole Academy

Goole Academy became part of the Delta Academies Trust on 1st April 2018. Previously to this, the Academy was sponsored by Wakefield City Academies Trust (WCAT) from 2014 to 2018. It is an 11-16 school with 860 students on roll.

Goole Academy is currently “taking effective action towards good” (Ofsted report November 2015). The report stated that the since the last inspection, “quality of provision and outcomes for students” has Improved “beyond recognition” and that new leadership, governance and sponsors, have transformed the Academy’s management ethos and culture which is helping it to improve quickly.

Attainment on entry is significantly below the national average, with 33% eligible for Pupil Premium funding (PPG). A number of the academy’s electoral wards fall into the highest index of multiple deprivation nationally.
